PhD Application

To get into the PhD program, it is a pre-requisite that you have an MS/MA degree.

Documents required for PhD admission application:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Application Form
  3. Reference Form - from two (2) references; can be your former professor, mentor, or an archaeologist. This should be mailed directly to the UPSA Admin Office by the reference.
  4. One-page academic concept paper. This is an overview of your PhD research topic, generally to give the faculty an idea about your academic research and how this will be implemented.
  5. Original copy of Official Transcript of Records
  6. Diploma Certificate – Undergraduate, Diploma/MS/MA (whichever is applicable). For verification purposes, please bring the ORIGINAL COPY of the Diploma Certificate.
  7. General Weighted Average (GWA) Certificate
  8. Recent 2 x 2 ID photo (taken within the last 6 months)
  9. Application Fee – details for payment will be given upon submission of requirements 1 to 8.
  • For Filipino Citizens - Php 100
  • For Foreign Nationals - USD 30

Once the requirements are complete, hand-deliver or mail the application package to the Admin Office of the UP School of Archaeology (please see complete address below).
