I did my undergraduate and graduate MA-level work at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am currently a Ph.D. student at the ASP while also teaching as a Senior Lecturer. I have participated in both research- and non-research-based archaeological fieldwork in Israel, the Philippines, and Hawaii (US). My latest research project involved doing fieldwork in different areas in Pampanga. The archaeology team was trying to determine the effects of climate change to the lives of people in the past. I was particularly interested in investigating the ways people adapted to natural disasters. I am currently on a new one (well, as soon as the pandemic is over!). Working with a team of Filipino and international researchers, we plan to collect data from different provinces such as Camarines Sur, Laguna, Batangas, Cebu, Palawan, and Cagayan. For this project, we will attempt to see the effects of Spanish colonization in terms of land use in the Philippines.
