My research interests focus on investigation of past human diet, health and diseases through osteoarchaeological analysis, and application of stable isotope analyses on human and faunal skeletal remains. I am currently conducting an osteoarchaeological and palaeopathological analyses on the human skeletal remains (Neolithic layer) from Callao Cave, Peñablanca, northern Luzon, and developing projects on the detection of alkaloids specific to Areca catechu on the dentitions of an ancient human population, on the microscopic (SEM) examination of microremains on dental calculus, and application of stable isotope analyses on human skeletal remains from various archaeological sites in the Philippines.
