Abstract

Heritage on Wheels is a mobile library that can be transported to different communities and institutions. The project enabled a broad reach of opportunities to introduce elementary school-aged children of Barangay UP Diliman Campus to the value of reading and the importance of Filipino heritage. The mobile library itself was constructed out of bamboo, a nod to a material that is integral to local material culture. Beyond a library, “Heritage on Wheels” served as a mobile venue to host story-tellings and activities for the public on the matter of heritage, archaeology, and culture.
